The electronic patient record (EPR) is a personal collection of health-related documents.

Everyone in Switzerland can open an EPR. This is voluntary and free of charge, and the EPR can be closed again at any time.

The EPR contains information important for your treatment. Both healthcare professionals and you yourself can store documents in the EPR.

Thanks to the EPR, the exchange of medical documents will become much more straightforward, rapid and secure.

Damit Sie auf ein EPD zugreifen können, müssen Sie bei einem zertifizierten EPD-Anbieter angemeldet sein und über eine sichere elektronische Identität verfügen.

Besitzen Patientinnen und Patienten ein EPD, gehen sie davon aus, dass die wichtigsten Informationen zu ihrer Behandlung darin abgelegt werden.

The electronic patient record (EPR) does not create any situation not covered by the present rules. The Federal Act on the Electronic Patient Record (EPRA) alters nothing in terms of the demarcation of responsibilities and the question of liability.
